Good teams get stuck. Let’s get things moving.

Loud Trumpet helps engineering leaders and their teams figure out what’s slowing progress and make practical improvements together. From delivery planning to putting AI to work, we combine hands-on engineering with practical guidance through change.

Let’s talk about your team

A 30-minute conversation with us about what you want to improve.
No commitment required.

Evidence-informed. Human-guided. Built to adapt.

Sound familiar?

  • The plan keeps slipping

Delivery commitments are hard to keep, and another planning meeting hasn’t cleared things up.

  • The tools are here

The shared approach is still taking shape. Engineers are experimenting with AI, and you’re working out what helps and whether it’s worth the effort.

  • Good work gets tangled up

Handoffs, unclear ownership, or systems few people understand make progress harder than it needs to be.

You don’t need to arrive with a diagnosis. Bring the situation you’re working through. We’ll help you make sense of it and find a useful place to start.

Start with one workflow

If your team is exploring AI-assisted engineering, the AI Engineering Enablement Sprint gives you a focused way to test an improvement in your own work.

Roughly four weeks. One team. One workflow.

Together, we document how the work happens today, agree on what improvement would look like, and test a change. Your engineers participate throughout and retain ownership of production implementation.

You leave with:

  • A clear picture of the workflow and where it gets stuck.
  • A tested change and evidence about what it helped, where it fell short, and what it required.
  • A decision about what comes next: keep it, adjust it, stop it, or extend it.

Working through a planning, coordination, or delivery problem? We can scope an engagement around that, too. An engagement may use no AI at all.

Ryan Haugh

Hands-on engineering. Organization-wide perspective.

Meet Ryan

I’m Ryan Haugh, the founder of Loud Trumpet. My career has taken me from writing software to leading engineering organizations as a VP of Engineering. I lead every paid Loud Trumpet engagement.

Earlier in my career, I led a company-wide change to delivery planning, bringing engineering, product, and executive leadership together around discovery, estimates, technical debt, and delivery commitments.

As an internal consultant, I also worked with acquired-company teams to understand unfamiliar systems and help improve how they worked. That meant listening, working through skepticism with empathy, and adapting changes to each team’s needs.

That’s the experience I bring to our work together: engineering judgment, hands-on AI expertise, and care for the people doing the work.

What working together looks like

We start by listening to the people who know the work. Together, we choose a manageable problem and agree on how we’ll recognize progress.

The answer might be clearer ownership, a simpler process, work you can stop doing, conventional automation, or AI. We test the change, look at the results together, and decide what deserves another step. Finding that something didn’t help is useful, too.

Most of the work is clearing obstacles, not adding process.

What’s getting in your team’s way?

Let’s spend 30 minutes talking about what you want to improve, where things feel stuck, and whether working together makes sense. You can bring a specific problem or a situation you’re still untangling.
